We started Nothing New to make a positive impact while creating products we love.

Who said eco-friendly needs to look eco-friendly?
We don’t just want to make products that look good. We want to make products that do good. We always believed that if we could make products as good or better looking than legacy products on the market, more people would consider opting for the sustainable option. Clean lines, vibrant colors, and luxury quality built with sustainable materials. It wasn’t an easy goal, but after 15 months and countless prototypes, Nothing New was born.

We started Nothing New because we wanted to be a positive force in our community, our industry, and our world. From our material procurement through our Virtuous Circle exchange program, we are always striving to push the high water mark a little higher for sustainability, transparency, and integrity.

Carbon Neutrality
We’re taking steps to build a better future and a cleaner footprint by removing more carbon out of the environment than we’re putting into it.

Virtuous Circle Program
Ship us your used sneakers, earn $20 towards a new pair, and we’ll make sure they don’t end up in a landfill. It’s as simple as that!

Better Canvas™
Made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic with Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification, each pair of Nothing New shoes is composed of the equivalent of 5.6 plastic water bottles. In addition to helping clean up our world, over 160 gallons of water are saved per pair vs. normal canvas sneakers. With high tensile strength and bold colors, it gives meaning to the saying, "One person’s trash is another person’s treasure!"

Our Outsoles
After more than one full year of outsole testing, we were able to develop what we think are the longest lasting and most comfortable sustainable outsoles on the market. While we originally wanted the outsole to be made entirely of recycled material, after testing various combinations we opted to use virgin natural rubber in addition to recycled rubber and recycled cork in order to maximize flexibility and traction and longevity.

True Stitch Construction
Stitch construction may be significantly more expensive than cement or vulcanized construction, but it’s far superior for both your feet and the environment. Unlike vulcanized or cemented sneakers, stitch construction creates a more flexible and durable bond between the outsole and upper and eliminates the harmful byproducts of chemical heavy glue and sulfur emissions from vulcanization.

Making An Impact
With the help of our partners, we are assisting local communities turn the collection of waste materials into dignified job opportunities.
